Lucknow: The 50th Board Meeting of Lucknow City Transport Services Limited (LCTSL) was held on Wednesday evening under the chairmanship of Vijay Vishwas Pant, with a focus on strengthening the city’s public transport system. Several important proposals related to bus operations and infrastructure were discussed and approved.
Review of Operations and Performance
The board reviewed operational performance between October 2025 and February 2026, assessing bus operations, passenger footfall, revenue, and expenditure. Officials deliberated on ways to improve efficiency and enhance service quality for commuters.
Budget Utilization Examined
A quarterly financial review for the same period was also conducted. The board evaluated budget utilization and identified areas requiring improvement, emphasizing the need to further strengthen financial management and sustainability.
Fresh E-Tender for 40 Bus Shelters
In a significant decision, the board approved re-tendering of 40 bus shelters developed under Lucknow Smart City Limited after revising contract conditions. The move aims to ensure better maintenance and efficient operation of these public facilities.
Auction of Old Buses Approved
The board also gave its nod to auction old and non-operational buses of LCTSL. Approval was granted to determine revised base prices for these vehicles, which is expected to generate additional revenue for the transport body.

Senior Officials in Attendance
The meeting was attended by key officials including Gaurav Kumar, representatives from the Directorate of Urban Transport, Regional Transport Office, and Police Commissionerate. The Managing Director of LCTSL, Chief Finance Officer, Operations Manager, Chartered Accountant, and Company Secretary were also present.

The board reiterated its commitment to improving public transport services in Lucknow. Officials stressed that providing safe, affordable, and convenient travel options remains a top priority, and further corrective measures will be implemented in the coming months.
